The Heart Behind What We Do

Our Ethics

At Dragonglass Cattery, the health, happiness, and well-being of our cats always come first. We are committed to raising our cats in a clean, enriching, family-centered environment where they receive daily love, attention, and mental stimulation. Our cats enjoy a variety of enrichment, including cat trees, interactive toys, scratching posts, cat wheels,  and opportunities to play and explore, helping them develop into confident, well-socialized companions. We proudly feed Instinct Ultimate Protein and Tiki Shreds to support optimal nutrition and overall health. Our breeding program is intentionally small and ethical. We carefully plan each litter and never overbreed our queens. Most queens are bred only once per year, and only in exceptional circumstances are they bred twice in a year, always with the approval of our veterinarian and only when it is in the queen’s best interest. Every decision we make is guided by the long-term health of our cats and the goal of producing healthy, affectionate kittens that become cherished members of their new families.

Of course, dewormers and flea and tick preventatives serve an important purpose and are an essential part of responsible pet care when needed. However, we do not administer these products routinely unless there is a medical reason to do so. Our cats are kept strictly indoors, receive regular veterinary examinations, and are routinely screened for parasites. We believe medications should be used when appropriate and based on veterinary guidance rather than as a routine treatment when there is no evidence of parasites.
