About the Owner

My name is Adrien Akers, and I am the owner and operator of Dragonglass Cattery, which I’ve proudly operated since 2021. I am 32 years old, happily married to my best friend, and a mother of two wonderful children, ages 8 and 5. My background includes certifications in CNA and Phlebotomy, along with extensive coursework in nursing, health sciences, biology, and human anatomy—knowledge that has proven invaluable in ensuring the health and well-being of our animals. I also hold a Bachelor of Science degree, with a double major in Criminal Justice and Sociology. Beyond the cattery, I enjoy gardening, Swimming, hiking, traveling, attending MLB games, and am actively involved in my church and community, including assisting with coaching at my daughter’s gymnastics academy.

My passion for animals began in early childhood, and it continues to grow stronger. This cattery is more than a business—it’s a lifelong dream and a true personal blessing.

Dragonglass Cattery was born from a deeply personal experience. My daughter and I longed for a kitten of our own, but both she and my husband suffered from severe cat allergies. Determined to find a solution, I began researching hypoallergenic cat breeds and discovered that Siamese and Balinese cats produce significantly lower levels of Fel d 1, the protein responsible for allergic reactions.

Through that discovery, I fell in love with the breed. My goal became clear: to help families like mine—who struggle with cat allergies—experience the joy of feline companionship. Dragonglass Cattery is dedicated to offering beautiful, affectionate, and allergy-considerate kittens to loving homes.
