Adoption Process

If you are interested in adopting a kitten from Dragonglass Cattery, the first step is to complete our Kitten Application.

Once your application is submitted, I will personally review it and reach out as soon as possible. If your application is approved, you will be invited to join our private Dragonglass Facebook group (this is our personal group-only those who have kittens from us, have approved kitten applications, on the waitlist, or placed reserve deposits can join this group), where you’ll gain exclusive access to:

Planned breedings and pregnancy updates
Photos and videos of current and past kittens
Behind-the-scenes insights into our cattery
Important announcements and litter availability

Waitlist Details

Families who complete a Kitten Application, submit the required waitlist information, and place a $100 non-refundable Exclusivity Waitlist Deposit receive priority selection of available kittens within their desired litter. Kitten selection is offered in the order that Exclusivity Waitlist Deposits are received.

Before accepting an Exclusivity Waitlist Deposit, we provide each family with our best estimate of the anticipated wait time for their desired kitten. While timelines are estimates and may be subject to change due to the nature of breeding, we strive to keep our families informed throughout the process.

What Next? Time to Claim your Kitten

At 4-6 weeks for Balinese, and 6-8 weeks for Maine Coons, we will take reserve deposits. Once you have the perfect kitten picked out, I will send you:

The Kitten Purchase Agreement
The Spay/Neuter Contract If Applicable
After reviewing and signing the contracts, you may place your $400 non-refundable reservation deposit to secure your kitten for those who placed a $100 waitlist fee, and $500 non refundable reservation deposit for those not on the waitlist. Once your reservation is confirmed, you will receive multiple updates each week, including photos, developmental milestones, and fun moments from your kitten’s early life.

Kittens are ready to go to their new homes at 12 - 14 weeks of age, healthy, well-socialized, and prepared for a smooth transition.

Breeding Rights

Looking to Strengthen Your Program?

We are not opposed to selling breeding rights; however, it is not a practice we engage in routinely. Our foremost priority is ensuring that our lineage continues with integrity long into the future. To that end, we conduct comprehensive background checks, thoroughly review all submitted information, and carefully assess whether placement with a breeder is in the best interest of each kitten. Breeding rights are $4,000-$6,500 for Balinese and $5,000-$10,000 for Maine Coons. A non-refundable deposit equal to 25% of the kitten’s purchase price is required to reserve a kitten with breeding rights.This deposit secures your kitten until the remaining balance is due. Rarity colors are priced higher due to their limited availability, genetic complexity, and the careful selection required in our breeding program. Upon completion and approval of the application, I will contact you directly. All of our cats possess exceptional pedigrees and have undergone full DNA testing. Once an applicant is approved, and upon breeder’s request, we will provide Pedigrees, DNA testings and all other health testing.

Breeding Rights Application

Important Notice

Balinese kittens are typically scheduled for spay or neuter approximately one month in advance. If a buyer requests breeding rights after the veterinary appointment has been scheduled, the buyer will be responsible for the $150 surgical deposit already paid to reserve the appointment. This fee must be paid in addition to the breeding rights fee and is non-refundable.
